Adoption Research and Client Visit
This week we are back in DC at the Belmont loft with Ray and Antonio. We are currently filming the Adoption Research segment, and then we will move on to the course introduction.
Today we had an awesome site visit from Les McFarling, Tom Marquez, and Sheila Seitz.
Testimonials
September 15-17 the crew gathered at R.R. Lighting in Silver Spring to shoot testimonials videos from volunteers who had at one point made high risk choices around alcohol and/or drugs, and have since made positive changes to either refrain from using, or to make low risk drinking choices.
It was a scramble to find volunteers, but together we managed to find around 20 awesome individuals from all walks of life. Go Team!
A special thank you to Taylor and the crew for making my birthday unforgettable. Very nice indeed. :)
Tommy Joe's and Mike's Debut
Tuesday afternoon, September 14, we rushed back to Tommy Joe's in Bethesda to film a few quick "man on the bar" segments. Here, Antonio interviewed extras as they enjoyed their drinks, asking them how many drinks they had consumed. They were surprised to find out exactly how many "standard drinks" they had actually had.
Our very own Mike O'Bryan took one for the team and stepped in as the gentleman who had had 2 bottles of beer. Way to make low risk choices Mike!! He was extra cool about having his makeup done. :P

Drink Measurement
On Monday, September 13, Crisdine joined us as our bartender expert back at The Harp & Fiddle, in Bethesda. Her and Antonio spent the day measuring out beer, wine, and spirits, demonstrating a standard drink pour.
Tomo, aka Tamo, aka Ozzie, spared nothing to get the perfect shot! Thanks Tomo!

Great Taste...More Filling
The production crew packed their bags and headed for Bella Faccia (Beautiful Face); an amazing studio in an older warehouse outside of Silver Spring, MD. It was an early call time for the crew in order to set up an 8 x 10 rear projection screen and huge projector for Brainbox's vision for the Jean Kilbourne advertising segments.
Jean did an artful job and was the consummate professional. Thanks to Jean for lending her knowledge, skill and talent to myPRIME! Everything went off without a hitch and we even managed to save a little budget by finishing early!

This is your Drugs on Brainbox
We were happy to have Allan Barger (aka "the PRI drug man") on set Monday and Tuesday. We shot his segments in a slightly transformed Windwalker West Wing.

Today's Shoot Has Been Brought to You by Travis' Belt...
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday have been super productive days at the studio.
Tom, Ray, Jim, and Sheila paid us a visit on Tuesday morning, so we were all on our best behavior. (This was particularly difficult for some!)
Wednesday, the beautiful and talented Michelle Ellison joined us from PRI as our first PRI expert. Michelle has been rocking the house, delivering her lines with style.
She is teaching Antonio all about psychological and social influences. We will be sad when she leaves us!!
In our downtime, Travis has decided to teach us all about Trilateralism.

Bar Fights at The Harp & Fiddle... and our first shot at Man on the Street
There is no better way to start your week then a Monday morning at the bar. The production team met at The Harp & Fiddle in Bethesda to shoot Do We All Respond the Same? and Two Types of Problems.
The script called for two burly guys, who of course, did not show up for their part. So Nick and Patrick took one for the team and stood in, both well over six feet tall. Jim, the short guy in the middle, is actually STANDING UP!
In a quest to find free bar extras, Missy volunteered her friend Patrick, below in the red hat, and he did a fabulous job. So fabulous that he didn't come out of character the entire day. At one point Antonio turned to ask him a serious question and the reply was a big slur. He played "drunk" so well we were actually afraid he may have been taking shots while nobody was looking. His hit line... "Your mama spilled your beer!"
When the bar brawls were over, we took to the street to ask people a few simple questions. Common drinking advice? Ever had an impairment problem? Do you think it's possible you could one day develop heart disease? Cancer? How about alcoholism?
And alas, we wrapped up another great day with a great team!
Friday at Snider's.... and the Basketball Court
Friday morning started out at Snider's Super Foods in Silver Spring, MD, where we shot part of Lesson 1.
"Okay, so you know when you're in the check-out lane at the grocery store and see your favorite candy? Even if you're on a budget, or on a diet, you might grab it. Because an impulse-buy can taste pretty good.
Well, sometimes we make similar choices when it comes to alcohol or drugs..... OR DONUTS NICK!"
After a nice family lunch at the local diner, we headed over to the local community center to shoot some hoops.... and throw a basketball at Antonio a couple dozen times.
